I’ve always asked questions. In situations where one might feel embarrassed about not knowing the answer, I will raise my hand or my voice in order to find a resolution. In other words, I don’t trip. I find learning to be a necessary, enjoyable part of life. BUT…when it comes to advice, I’m the complete opposite. I rarely seek it and it’s even more rare that I give it. It’s just not my strong suit.
So, when I decided to introduce an advice column to the HBG fam, I knew I’d need to find someone outside the fold. Like I said, I prefer asking questions, not dispensing advice. As luck would have it, I didn’t need to cast my net very far.
Bolly is an artist, educator and performer who currently calls Little Rock Arkansas home. Last time I was out that way all I wanted to do was sit on a big front porch, sip somethin cool and talk about life. Next time I roll through I’m doin it with Bolly. Y’all can too, by sending him all your burning questions and having him reply to them via The Happy Black Girl! Aside from sourcing your own front porch and tasty beverages, it’s not a bad deal. If you have trouble reading the column below just click on the image, roll your cursor over it and zoom in accordingly. It’s intentionally formatted to resemble a newspaper. Yep…that’s how we do it. Leave your comments/ thoughts and or suggestions below. Enjoy~
